About
Hi, I’m Annie—founder of Doulacta.
Becoming a parent is more than a life change—it’s a transformation of identity, emotions, and priorities. This process, known as matrescence, deserves to be honored and supported.
For the past five years, I’ve been immersed in the world of postpartum care—first through my own experience as a mom of two, and then by walking alongside other families as they step into parenthood. I’m a bilingual certified Postpartum Doula (Perinatal Professionals Association) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), certified by The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP). Through Doulacta, I support families with one-on-one postpartum and lactation coaching, and I hold free weekly breastfeeding circles in San Diego County, in Chula Vista and Bonita, and online for families everywhere.
Before stepping into birth work, I earned my degree in Economics and Business, at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. I then worked at Fondo Acción where I led a community ecotourism program and supported RedLAC, a network of more than 20 nonprofits across Latin America and the Caribbean. Later, I earned my MBA from UC Irvine and joined the Leadership Development Program at Niagara Bottling, rotating through Sales, HR, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.
That’s how Doulacta was born— when new parents feel confident, cared for, and connected, they create the foundation for a loving and resilient next generation.
